Here are some helpful tips that you might want to try the next time you need to calm down.
1. BREATHE
Did you know that when we’re stressed or anxious, our breathing tends to be irregular and shallow? That is why deep breathing is recommended to help you calm down. Paying more attention to how you’re breathing can make a big impact on your stress levels. To deep breathe, put your hand on your belly: You should feel it rise and expand as you draw air in, and fall as you let it out. Shoot for about six breaths a minute.
2. RELAX
Relaxing can quiet your mind and make you feel peaceful and calm. Relaxation also has other related health benefits, including lowering your heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing rate, reducing muscle tension, and chronic pain. You can also try to listen to music because it calms the activity in your brain; Listen closely, not just as background. The more you notice, the less you'll dwell on your other thoughts.
3. EXERCISE
When we work out, our body releases chemicals called endorphins; these endorphins are the body’s natural painkillers. It will help us feel good and will help us improve our mood, focus, and sleep.
